What I Plan To Accomplish
- Teach kids grit, compassion, respect, responsibility
- Reverse the learning loss from school closures
- Use my 38 years experience with technology to:
- Imbue kids with skills for the digital age
- Build an understanding of security, and privacy to navigate this new landscape safely
- Promote mentorship of kids by local experts
- Use data-driven methods like anonymous GoogleGeist surveys of parents and teachers to discern where we can work together better
- Of course sustain fiscal responsibility (I’m a Gujarati AND a Republican, that's 2X)
What makes you the best candidate for this office?
- 2017 - present: Google Magic Instructor at Doyle Winter Enrichment. Annually leads a 4-week course for 4th - 6th graders about planet scale computing. We make a Pokemon search engine, use Mapreduce (aka Hadoop) to sort Fruit Runts, Diffie-Hellman secret exchange, …
- 2003 - present: Staff Software Engineer at Google. Worked on the Google search engine, then helped build Google Calendar from scratch. Then Privacy for Workspace, including Access Transparency for Calendar. Now working in Google Cloud Security.
- 2018 - 2022: Cub Scouts Treasurer and Den Leader. Tohickon award (2021)
